The Sustainable Warmth Funding includes the following two programmes:

Local Authority Delivery Phase 3 (LAD3): £280 million plus to aid gas-heated low-income homes

Home Upgrade Grant Phase 1 (HUG1): £150 million plus will be used by low-income families outside the gas grid as part of the programme.

The main objective is to upgrade owner-occupied homes with inadequate insulation with energy-efficient measures such as, low-carbon heating, and renewable energy. Priority is given to houses having an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of E, F, or G. Property upgrades are permitted but will be restricted for those with an EPC of D. 

Eligible parties qualify to receive FREE installation of up to £25,000 worth of work at your house. The typical improvements you could obtain through the programme include solar panels, loft insulation, and cavity wall insulation.

Funding Eligibility 

You must fulfil the requirements in order to be eligible for the funding. This comprises of:

  • Have a gross yearly household income of less than £30,000 OR get a means-tested benefit that is income connected.
  • Properties must have EPC ratings in bands D, E, F, and G.
  • Upgrades must be domestic residences, and the main focus will be to update privately owned homes.

If you live in a low-income household and own your home, it may be feasible to receive upgrades totally funded within the applicable cost caps and you do not have to contribute.
